From the hospital to the home

Hello, and welcome to my blog! It is my hope that you will find this space to be encouraging and informative as you navigate life with children. While writing has always been a hobby of mine, at the encouragement of my husband and sister, I created this platform to reach and help others.

I have devoted the majority of my professional career to teaching hundreds of students how to be caring and competent registered nurses. My time at the bedside with my patients and students taught me invaluable lessons in compassion, difficult discussions, and time management. As I continue to mold the next generation of health care providers, I see striking similarities between what I teach at the bedside and what I attempt to instill in my children at home. My hope, through this platform, is to encourage others in the same journey of raising a new generation of compassionate, loving children, who can enter adulthood prepared to care for themselves and the world around them.

My words have been featured on Her View From Home, The MOPS blog, The Today Show Parenting Team, For Every Mom, and I am a regular contributor at Grow Christians. Please join our social media tribes or email list if you’d like to be notified when new posts are up!

In August 2019, I printed a collection of vignettes that I wrote in honor of my niece’s impending arrival entitled Lattes for my Little Sister: A Memoir of Early Motherhood.
